About the Author
Chris T. Kat lives in the middle of Europe, together with her husband of many years and their two children. She stumbled upon the M/M genre by luck and was swiftly drawn into it. She divides her time between work, her family—which includes chasing after escaping horses and lugging around huge instruments such as a harp—and writing. She enjoys a variety of genres, such as mystery/suspense, paranormal, and romance. If there's any spare time, she happily reads for hours, listens to audiobooks, or crafts.

Touching romance

Joshua and Michael top the list of couples that grab hold of my heart and give it a good squeeze.

I read Despite the Odds, the first book in this series back at the beginning of the summer, and fell hard for Joshua. I was really keen to read more about this relationship.

This is a romantic story, a real love story, but so sad in places too. Both Joshua and Michael are so unsure of themselves, and in turn, of each other and what they have together. The book is very gentle, focusing on the MCs battle to believe that they are loved unconditionally, and their struggle to accept that they are deserving of that kind of love. The sex scenes here are few, but beautifully done, and the love between these two men is palpable. It's a sweet, romantic, angsty, hopeful story, with the happy ending I wanted for Michael and Joshua. A lovely, lovely read.

(I am Mum to twin boys with cerebral palsy, and Joshua's struggles, both physical and emotional, really touched me. I see my boys in his self-doubt and insecurities, but also in his determination and his accomplishments, making Josh a very real character for me.  Disabled doesn't mean unable!)
