I am a wife and mother to three kids, three dogs, and a cat. When I’m not dreaming up stories, I like to lose myself in a good book, cook or bake
I’m a girly tomboy who paints her fingernails while watching sports and yelling at the referees. I will always choose the book over the movie. I believe in happily-ever-after. Love inspires everything that I do. Music keeps me sane.
So, what have you written?
I have written the book Only You, the Fated Hearts series, and I’m about to publish the first book in my new Curl Up and Dye Mystery series. The book is titled Dyeing to be Loved and will publish on November 8, 2016.
How many books to your series? (if it is a series)
The new series will have four books for the main characters and then one spinoff (I think) for another couple. The Fated Hearts series has seven books to date, but I am planning on writing a few spinoff books for characters that have been introduced throughout the series.
What do you love most about the writing process?
My favorite part of writing is getting completely lost in the world I’ve created and how real my characters feel to me.
Have you ever gone to a convention? If so, how was it? If not, do you think it’s something you’d like to do in the future?
I have not attended any conventions to date, but I am hoping to attend GRL in Denver, Colorado in 2017.
Have you ever written a scene where it has reduced you to tears?
Many times, but none more than when I wrote Surrender Your Heart. I can’t stand the thought of people feeling like the must live a lie. You can tell yourself all day long that it’s fiction, but there are real people who live in fear of being discovered that they love the same sex, or both sexes, or that they don’t identify with the gender written on their birth certificates. I just wish we lived in a more accepting world.
Is there a character you feel especially connected to? Why?
I’ve felt a connection with all my characters, but the strongest one is definitely with my new guy Josh “Jazz” Roman. I can’t be certain why because our personalities are not that similar. I can say that he’s louder and has lived in my head longer than the others. I only know that his first two books have flowed faster and easier than any others I’ve previously written.
Curl Up and Dye Mysteries #1
Published November 8th, 2016
Gabriel Wyatt is a big city Detective living in a small Ohio town. He expects a peaceful existence once he moves from Miami, Florida, but that’s the last thing he finds. Instead, Gabe discovers murder, mayhem, and one smart-mouthed stylist he can’t get out of his head.
Josh “Jazz” Roman is a small-town business owner with big dreams and an attitude to match. He finds himself in the middle of a case that brings the dreamy detective to the front door of his Curl Up and Dye salon. Josh learns that the biggest threat to him isn’t a killer; it’s a man who wants something from him that he vowed to never give again – his heart.
Both men deny that there’s something between them, even though they’re drawn together like magnets. Can Gabe convince Josh to let down his guard or will Josh let past hurts destroy his chance at a happy future?
Dyeing to be Loved is the first book in the Curl Up and Dye Mystery series. These books are written to be read in order. They contain sexually explicit material and are intended for adults 18 and older.
