New Music from the Cast of ‘The Get Down’ Out Today

With the highly anticipated Part II premiere of the Netflix series The Get Downjust a week away, House of Iona/RCA Records releases “Break The Locks” by “The Get Down Brothers” from the show’s soundtrack.

The single is available today at all digital music providers.

Under the tutelage of hip-hop legends Grandmaster Flash and Rahiem (Furious 5), actors Justice Smith (“Ezekiel ‘Books’ Figuero”), Skylan Brooks (“Ra Ra Kipling”), Tremaine Brown Jr. (“Boo Boo Kipling”), Shameik Moore (“Shaolin Fantastic”), and Jaden Smith (“Dizzee Kipling”), go full throttle with their rapping skills as “The Get Down Brothers.” The lyrics for “Break The Locks” were written by Nas and the track was produced by Salaam Remi, Elliott Wheeler and Baz Luhrmann.

Part II of the music-driven drama series The Get Down will premiere globally on Netflix on April 7th. The Get Down: Original Soundtrack from The Netflix Original Series will be released on April 14th via Baz Luhrmann’s label House of Iona, and RCA Records.

The Get Down is produced by Sony Pictures Television for Netflix. The series is executive produced by Baz Luhrmann, Catherine Martin, Paul Watters, Stephen Adly Guirgis and Nas. Seth Zvi Rosenfeld, Aaron Rahsaan Thomas and Kerry Orent are co-executive producers.
